Royal prank DJ claims unsafe workplace in lawsuit

Mel Greig is suing her employer Southern Cross Austereo after last year's royal prank and the death of London nurse Jacintha Saldanha.

The radio host broadcast a prank call in which she pretended to be the Queen and duped the nurse into transferring the call to the Duchess of Cambridge's ward.

Ms Saldanha was found a few days later after apparently committing suicide.

Today it has emerged that Greig has lodged an application with Fair Work Australia claiming her employer failed to maintain a safe workplace.

A chance for O'Brien to borrow his sister's courage

Collingwood's Heritier "Harry" O'Brien is the antithesis of the stereotypical footballer: thoughtful and compassionate with a deep sense of right and wrong.

Angry Dreyfus rejects Japan's 'offensive' Sea Shepherd claims

Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus has angrily rejected Japanese claims that the Australian Government has "outsourced" its anti-whaling campaign to controversial activist group Sea Shepherd.

Mr Dreyfus was speaking as he wrapped up Australia's legal challenge to the whaling program at the International Court of Justice in The Hague.

He was highly critical of Japan's previous assertions to the court about Australia's relationship with anti-whaling activists, saying allegations Australia supported violent extremism were "offensive and untrue".

And he told the court Japan's attempts to invoke a scientific justification for its whaling program were "not supported by any proper hypothesis".
