ABC NewsMail - Afternoon Edition

Good afternoon. Here's what's happening now:

While some of us might joke about being allergic to the cold, for Victorian woman Kristyn Keall, it is an everyday reality. Ms Keall has a condition known as cold urticaria, or cold hives, an allergy induced by anything from a cool breeze to an icy drink.

Here's what's coming up:

  • 8:30pm AEST: The European Commission will decide whether it will fine Spain and Portugal for failing to fix years of high deficits in violation of EU rules

  • 10:18pm AEST: Newly-appointed Environment Minister Josh Frydenberg will be on Lateline

  • 5:00am AEST: Australia's Olympic chef de mission Kitty Chiller will hold a press conference in Rio
