  • Police are investigating multiple child abuse allegations levelled directly against Australia's most senior Catholic cleric Cardinal George Pell, the ABC's 7.30 program has revealed

  • Donald Trump has urged Russia to uncover and release thousands of emails that his opponent Hillary Clinton did not hand over to officials during an investigation of her email use as secretary of state. "Russia, if you're listening, I hope you're able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing," he told reporters

  • Earth has said goodbye to Philae, the washing-machine sized probe which has spent over a year hurtling through space on a comet. Philae had sent home much important data, but communication has now been stopped
