  • There is a changing of the guard underway in UK politics in the aftermath of the Brexit Leave vote. Overnight, Interior Minister Teresa May moved closer to replacing outgoing PM David Cameron, winning the first ballot held for the Conservative leadership. The MPs will narrow the field to two candidates before 150,000 party members decide the leader in September

  • Still overseas, a French parliamentary inquiry has found the country's national intelligence services should be overhauled following last year's terrorist attacks in Paris. The president of the inquiry said the barriers between six different intelligence agencies led to surveillance on one of the Charlie Hebdo attackers being lifted

  • Yes, votes in the federal election are still being counted. The ABC computer has the count at: Coalition 70 seats, Labor 67 seats and eight seats in doubt. When will it end? Well, 80 per cent of the vote has been counted so, we're getting there. Check back to know the moment Antony Green calls the result
