  • The lawyer for a British man accused of murdering a Balinese police officer said his client confessed to hitting the man with a beer bottle and an old mobile phone. David James Taylor's lawyer said that Taylor and his Australian girlfriend Sara Connor also burned their clothes after finding a blood stain and hair on them

  • The leaders of France, Germany and Italy have insisted that Britain's decision to quit the European Union will not kill the bloc, vowing to relaunch the European project in the wake of Brexit

  • Meanwhile, Nicolas Sarkozy has announced he will run for the French presidency in 2017, after being unseated in 2012 by the now deeply unpopular Francois Hollande

Actress Renee Zellweger wrote an essay denying she had plastic surgery. She told 7.30 that "speculation had become the truth"
