Here's your preview of day 10 in Rio

Rio 2016
Rio 2016: Day 10 preview - Hockeyroos, Anna Meares and a shot at sailing gold

Hockey

Australia's men fell short in their quarter-final on day nine, ending a disappointing campaign, so now the Hockeyroos are flying the flag alone.

They will meet trans-Tasman rival New Zealand in the second v third quarter-final at 11:00pm Monday.

The winner will meet either group B winner Great Britain, which earlier beat Australia 2-1, or group A's fourth-placed finisher, Spain, in the semis.

Cycling

Could this be the last time we see Anna Meares on the track?

Meares, who has already won bronze in the keirin in Rio, is the defending women's sprint champion but only made it through day nine's races via repechage. She rides against Hong Kong's Wai Sze Lee at 11:06pm.

The only cycling medal being handed out on day 10 is in the men's omnium, with the points race at 6:23am. Australia's only competitor is Glenn O'Shea.

Sailing

Australia could have its first Rio medal in sailing, the country's saviour at the London Games.

At 2:05am, Ashley Stoddart will line up in the women's laser radial race.

And 2015 World Cup champion Tom Burton will be contesting the men's laser medal race from 3:05am.

Athletics

Australia has two competitors in the final of the women's 3,000m steeplechase, with everyone's favourite stage-crasher Genevieve LeCaze and Madeline Heiner Hills going around at 12:15am.

Former world champion Dani Samuels will also be hurling her first discus of the Games when the qualifying rounds start at 9:30am.

Lauren Wells will also go around the stadium in the brutal 400m hurdles heat at 11:02am.

Among the medals being handed out are the men's 800m (11:25am), the women's 400m (11:45am) and the men's pole vault (9:35am).
