Usain Bolt completes historic Olympic triple

BREAKING NEWS: Friday 19 August 2016
Usain Bolt claims gold in 200m final
Usain Bolt has further confirmed his greatness by winning Olympic gold in the men's 200m final.

In wet conditions at the Rio Olympic Stadium, Bolt won comfortably in a time of 19.78, with Canada's Andre De Grasse second in 20.02 and France's Christophe Lamaitre third in 20.12.

The Jamaican athletics icon can now boast three straight Olympic 100m-200m gold doubles, and the mantle as the greatest sprinter of all time.

Bolt was typically relaxed before the race, performing a samba on the blocks and encouraging the crowd to cheer louder.

The race was Bolt's final Olympic event as an individual athlete, but his bid for glory at Rio is not yet over.

The 29-year-old will be part of the Jamaican team in the 4x100m relay on Saturday (AEST), where a gold medal will secure him a historic "triple-triple" crown of winning the 100m, 200m and relay at three Olympics.
